The Product Owner should be able to detail the product vision and priorities to the development team using a common language, i.e., product backlog. The PO, as part of the team, pushes towards realizing the client’s requirements within available time and resource limits. They act as a bidirectional bridge between the stakeholder and the team.
Job Duties:
- Participate in business meetings with clients.
- Understand and communicate the stakeholder requirements by setting a common vision that guides the scrum process.
- Observe, learn about and analyze the market, the client, and end-users.
- Setting timelines, roadmaps, growth, and success criteria.
- Follow requirement engineering practices in scoping, prioritizing, and validating product features within an ordered backlog and adapt deliverables accordingly.
- Manage product backlog in terms of creating new user stories and specifying their acceptance criteria.
- Improve product backlog items via grooming with the development team.
- Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
- Participate in sprint planning and sprint review meetings and help in providing sprint goals.
- Review stories, epics, and themes of the product.
- Evaluate product progress at each iteration and report to management and stakeholders.
- Report work activities.
- Communicating with various stakeholders in order to have end-to-end ownership of the product backlog.
- Maintain a backlog of stories that are ready for at least 2 sprints.
- Create and maintain product documentation including release notes and technical diagrams as needed.
- Document issues with resolutions and escalates when there are issues.
- Actively participate in meetings and make valuable contributions.
Qualifications
- BA in Management or BSc in Computer Science or any related fields.
- 2+ years of proven experience working in software managing demanding clients and meeting deadlines.
- Previous working experience as a Product Owner preferred.
